Notes for Frank Purdy Thomas:Frank Purdy Thomas, son of John Switzer Thomas and Olivia Dorman Purdy, was born in Addison County New York on October 11, 1869 and died in Whitney, Nebraska on October 28, 1948.At the time of his death he was a resident of Chadron, Nebraska.
When he was a child he moved with his family to Spring Valley, York County, Minnesota and then in 1886 to Whitney, Nebraska where his parents homesteaded and were farmers and ranchers.He lived most of his life on a ranch on Ash Creek,four miles south of Whitney, Dawes County, Nebraska.
In 1943 he and his wife, Olive Eugenia Scofield Thomas, left the ranch where they had lived and raised their family for 48 years and moved to Chadron, Nebraska where they spent the rest of their lives.He died at the age of 79 years of a heart attack, but was in apparent good health up until then.
