The Henry McDonald family were later found in Dent County, Missouri. The son Wilson had purchased 40 acres of land, Oct 9, 1856. Next we've found the same group except for Wilson and Mary Jane in Bohnam, Fannin County, Texas, the 1860 Census.
John Wilson, Mary Jane and Children do appear in Fannin County, Texas in the 1870 Census.
Henry has a land deed dated the 9th of February, 1861. I think I can say with certainty that this was one of ours. Maybe even this Henry. As the deed reads, Henry McDonald of Fannin County Mysouri, the old spelling for Missouri.
There is no Fannin County in Missouri, Fannin was in Texas. I feel the clerk asked Henry where he was from and he said Fannin County, not realizing the clerk meant, where are you now living, and not coming from. The clerk wrote in Fannin County. This was recorded in Jackson County, Missouri's land office. This doesn't mean his land was in Jackson County, more likely he was in Dent County, as Wilson was there? Why the back and forth direction, to and from Texas and Missouri, I don't know? But it sure appears to be the case? It could be two families with extremely similar names. Or cousins with the the same sort of names. Or they could have moved, didn't like it and moved back? How to prove or disprove this, I am not sure?

The following locations are un proven for Henry McDonald, Just notes for later reference.
Smith County, Tennessee. 2100001-0111
White County Tennessee, 00010001-0110001
and Jackson County, Tennessee021101-121111, (sp McDonnel)
