My family includes the surnames Thompson, Streitenberger, Borders, Bowling, Hayes, James, McKinster, Mead (Meade), Pack, Ramey, Smeltzer, Starr, Vanhoose and Weber. Most of these families lived in Eastern Kentucky. The Streitenbergers and Webers emigrated from Bieber, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany in 1832 and settled in Pike and Ross Counties, Ohio.
My wife's family includes the surnames Holley, Pinnell, Coulter, Crowder, Elmore, Hill, Hawver, Huffman, Hull, McKeever, Perkins, and Wright. These families came from Virginia and West Virginia.
