Am on the trail of the Thwaites family who originate from Bethnal Green, including my husband Eric, I have located 7 generations going back to 1790. The branches that have become part of the tree include, Anderson from Scotland (my father) Whitefoot from London (Erics Mum) Finlay from Ireland (my Mum), Kentfield, Langley, Knight, Hayward, Tippett and many more. The two I have had the most problems with are Tippett and Finlay
Have searched since 1981 for Ellen Tippett who was married to William Thwaites. She was born circa 1847, supposedly in Bethnal Green, London but can only find two who were born in Cornwall at that time and I have been unable to make a link there. Any help appreciated. Have also had problems with Michael Finlay, my maternal Gt. Grandfather reputed to have come from Kilkenny in Ireland. He would have been born circa 1843 but lived in Dunboyne Co.Meath after his marriage. An help greatly appreciated.
