The information contained on this web site has come primarily from James Melville Hunnewell, Boston, 1919. He compiled a history of the Tickner Family in America, Descendants of William Ticknor of Scituate, 1633, came to America 1646 Tenterden, County Kent. I have also had assistance from the wonderful Mrs. Hazel Hood, who I am proud to call my Aunt, of Puyallup Washington. She has a wonderful background in genealogy and has extensively researched her husbands family, which is also related to my family. And, I am also proud to say, at the wonderful young age of 93, she still works part time as an historian at the Meeker Mansion in Puyallup.

This collection contains many gaps in the Tickner family history. I hope to get some assistance from the many Tickners out there, including the wonderful Bernita and Tom Tickner in Etna California who provided me with a copy of the Hunnewell collection. I hope to get more information, and am willing to share the information that I have. Please respond to my email if you have information or questions. Thanks, Polly Tickner
