I am researching the Tieleman family from Leiden, the Netherlands and the Dros family (Leiden branch). The earliest entry of my forefathers is from the marriage register of the OUDE Kerk in Delft on December 14 1715. Matthijs Tieleman and Elisabeth Keerweer moved to the City of Leiden where four children are registered. No clear evidence exists about the parents of Matthijs. Based on the information available to me, I feel that Matthijs' parents were Joannes Tieleman and Anne Joris Elderbeecq. Unless this is found to be incorrect, I will leave this information in the reports presented here. The Dros family in Leiden can be traced back to Dirk Dros from Nigtevecht, Prov. Utrecht, the Netherlands. Dirk Dros was married to Marritje de Vries and one of their children, Cornelis Dros moved to Leiden. There, together with two members of the Tieleman family, the soap factory Dros & Tieleman Bros was established in 1827. Any information about this firm and the canning factory Tieleman & Dros which was established later, as well as information about the ancestors of Matthijs Tieleman would be appreciated. |
