The Timmermans Family Home Page

Updated January 11, 2003

H E L L O ! G R E E T I N G S !
I’m Paul. I was born in Limburg, in The Netherlands and migrated 40 years ago.

My wife Rebecca - pleased to meet you - has lived in New Zealand all her life and belongs to “Tumapuhia”

Most of my family still live in Limburg, and while compiling a family history, I am interested in my family names TIMMERMANS and JOOSTEN.
Martinus Timmermans was born in Horn on 19-3-1699 and married Maria Verboeket or Verboeken. His father was Leonardus Timmermans ans his mother Margareta Weevers.
Leonardus Joosten was born in Haelen in 1623. He died there on 26-10-1673. He married Catharina Houben (b 1620) in 1646 and his parents were Geert - Goert (Gerardus-Godefridus) b 1590 and Joanna Lenaerts.

Another of my interests is Maori Culture. UPOKOMUTU descibes an area around Mount Taranaki. What does the word mean ? Part of it , close to Parihaka, is called Tuteuruoho. This is the name of a tipuna.
On the other side of Te Ika a Maui I'm curious about Homewood, Kaiwhata, and Okautete School and the people that lived there around 1900.

Please contact me by email at: paul@timmermans.co.nz if you would like to talk or ask any questions.
