Ancestors of "Edmund L. Tiner" & "Johann Jacob Hirrlinger"

Updated December 4, 2007

My husband Michael and I would like to thank our wonderful family and friends for helping us through the years with our quest to get to know our ancestors.
I am a 5th generation decendant of Edmund L. and Lucinda Tiner, seeking information on Edmund L. Tiner (b.1810-1817 TN) and his wife Lucinda (last name unknown)(b.1820-1827 AR or MO). We suspect they married in MO or AR. We know the family lived in McDonald Co., MO in 1852 when Edmund purchased land at Honeycreek Township from the land office in Springfield MO November 1, 1852. (There was also a Lewis Tiner who purchased land near Edmunds's on the same date. We feel they are related) Also the 1860 McDonald Co MO. Census confirms Edmund and Family lived there at that time. The 1870 Cooke Co. TX. Census confirms Edmund and his children; Jackson W., Sarah M., George W., Burrel A., Jasper N., John L., Thomas J. and Lissa E. (Melissa) lived in TX. at that time. However, we lose track of Lucinda in 1864 at the Choctaw Nation in OK. where Lissa was born. We suspect that she may have died during childbirth, during their trek to TX., or after they settled in TX. Edmund married Ruth Crabtree (from Washington Co, IL) in Grayson Co. TX May 24, 1870. They had no children. We find record where Edmund was witness in a court case in Blue County, OK after that but do not have an address for him. We lose track of him there. The Crabtree family has information that Ruth is buried at Horse Shoe Bend, Red River, Grayson Co. TX. We have not been able to confirm this or locate the cemetery. Edmund & Lucinda's children settled in Southern Oklahoma, East Texas and South East Texas. Some decendants migrated to California.

The HIRRLINGER family is from north east Missouri circa 1850's to present. Having immigrated from Germany to Missouri by way of Indiana and Ohio. There is another branch of the HIRRLINGER family in the Northeast United States.

Surnames we are looking for on the Tiner line are: Tiner, Hopkins, Aaron, Allen, Bowden, Holsomback, Hulsey, Jackson, McCool, Phillips, Smiley and Smith.
On the Hirrlinger line: Hirrlinger, Barr, Doerrer, Frazell, Hodgin, Jackson, Macy, Sherwood, and Speer.
Any information you would like to share is greatly appreciated and we look forward to sharing our information with you. Please check out our family photos below. We look forward to hearing from you!
