I have been researching only about 15 years now, not long compared to many researchers I've met. I owe all of my sucesses to all my wonderful "cousins" help. None of this would have been possible without them. For the last year I have been concentrating on my paternal ancestors, all of which ended up in Texas before 1870. The ALLEN family came from Kentucky in about 1820 and settled in Texas with Stephen F. Austin. The JOHNSTON family came from Alabama just after 1840, both families settled in Austin county near San Felipe. My PRICE family came out of North Carolina and into Georgia in the 1840's then to Texas by 1870 to settle in Washington county at Brenham.I have several ancestors of German lines who all came to Texas between 1845 and 1870 and settled in Fayette county. Those surnames are BLUMERICH, NORDHAUSEN and SEEBERGER.My maternal ancestors include: ALLEN, BOND, BRYANT, BUTLER (2 lines), CLAYBORNE, COLLINS, GRESHAM, MARTIN (2 lines), THOMAS, TULLOS, WARD, WELCH and WHITTEN. This is not nearly a complete list, there are many more which can be found in the attached report. Several of these lines are Cherokee and when possible I have tribal roll numbers. In addition to my own ancestors I have researched those of my husband, the surnames include: FRIZZELL, FRY, NELMS, O'QUINN, SCARBOROUGH, SOUTHERN, THARP, and TINER. I am always willing to share any information I have and much appreciate any help offered. If you have any questions, comments or corrections, please do contact me via e-mail.Thanks for your interest!
