Hi, I am Gary Tishue who was elected August 2001 to Presidency of the Tis_ue Family which reunites annually in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Last year I created the first Tis_ue Newsletter and distributed it to over 350 families located in many states of the US. The newsletter contains historic articles and current events. The first newsletter contained in-depth articles on the Tis_ue name and our early migration path.

Jack Tishue, former President, is our Chief Genealogist while I perform information and data exchange. Sharon and Will Tissue are the Outreach co-directors, Dorothy Dull is our secretary, and Marie Hay our treasurer.

Jack Tishue started building the Tis_ue family tree many years ago and in 1997 I began automating the data archival. Through the internet I made many new contacts and further refined and grew the family tree. Now we have entered about 5,300 names so far based on available information from various family members and our own research. We are researching the surname Tis_ue spelled as follows: Tishue, Tissue, Tisue, Tyschow, and Tyshew. The bulk of the Tissue origins are from the southwestern corner of Pennsylvania in Somerset County and Fayette County. In the present day the Tis_ues live in many states throughout the USA.

We have information on the family dating back to the 1700s to a Bastian or Boston Tyschow or Tyshew living in the Maryland area. His son was Captain William Tissue born 1740. It is believed that Bastin or his ancestors came to America from England. Greater research is required to prove Bastin's roots.
