The Titterton family has its origins in the north eastern region of Staffordshire, in the English Midlands. The original version of the name probably came into being in the 1300's as Tydrynton, and it evolved as time went by to its current form. I was born in Stoke on Trent, and have traced my roots back to William Titterton, born in 1796 in Bradnop, Derbyshire. He married Elizabeth Swindell, and they had 7 children; 5 sons and 2 daughters. Their names were: John, Richard, Edward, Tomison, Francis, Thomas Lotin and Eliza Ann. I have more information about this particular branch of the Titterton clan, and am prepared to share with other interested parties. Any additional information about the Titterton's (any branch) would be appreciated. |
