THEVENIN FAMILY REUNION CELEBRATING THE 100TH YEAR. August 10, 2008 Chillicothe, Ohio.This will be a wonderful time for all the familes of the Thevenin/Thivener/Tivener/Tivner. We were married for 51 years and enjoyed searching though cemeteries, court houses and any place we could for family. We have found so many wonderful cousins and we both were very grateful for their family information. Bill passed away th 24th of May, 2008. He is buried in Lexington, Richland Co. Oh. in the Lexington Cemetery. Bill served in the US.Army Reserves, Ohio State Guard, was a Correction Officer at Mansfield, and Police Officer in Lexington, he retired 1 May 2007 from the Lexington School System where he worked for 21 years.Love Ya! Babe and miss you so much.NOTE: On William Burdett b. ca. 1755, his father has been proven to be John (II) Burdett, Sr. & Elizabeth "Betsy". Many have him married 2nd to a Rebecca Sunderland in 1870. George and Mary (Clifton) Sunderland lived together until her death in 1912. In 1910 census they both were living with their daughter Lavinia Sunderland Kline in Jeff. Co. Oh. both our buried in Steubenville. His father Michael Sunderland was born in Maryland and is not the son of Peter Sunderland of New Jersey.

  • Album Covered Bridge Cross Creek Jefferson Co Oh (115 KB)
    This covered brige built over Cross Creek in Wayne Township Jeff. Co Oh. Located on the Charles Maxwell property where he built a saw and grist mill on the creek. The huge stone foundation was still there in early 2004, but later in the year a flood washed the foundation away. Charles Maxwell built the roof over the bridge in 1818 for a cost of $60.00. In 2004 a flood on Cross Creek swept away the remaining foundation of this covered bridge at Reed's Mill Jeff. Co. Oh.

    Bill died suddenly about 8 P.M. while driving us home from our daughters. He was born 24 Oct. 1935 Mansfield, Richland Co. Oh. died 24 May 2008 Knox County hospital in Mt. Vernon, Oh. He leaves a wife, Donna (Maxwell) Tivener, children: Kim w/o Steve Weiler, Wm. Jr, Glenda w/o Stan Chance, Debra w/o Alan Chance. 7 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is deeply missed by many friends and his family.

    Charles and Sarah buried Two Ridges Cemetery, Jefferson Co. Oh. The stones now are badly weathered and hard to read. Charles built a saw and grist mill on the creek and a two story brick house the first in the township.

    Joseph E. Maxwell (February 9, 1916 - December 31, 2008) Maxwell, Joseph E., age 92 of Canton died Wednesday in Aultman Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Mingo Junction, Ohio to the late David G. and Ina R. (Kline) Maxwell. Joseph was most known for being an amateur pianist; he was retired from National Steel Company in Weirton, West Virginia where he worked as an electronic Engineer for 33 years. He was a Morris Code operator at the Pentagon during WWII, a Boy Scout leader and church organist for many years. Preceded in death by his wife Pauline E. (Eft) Maxwell in 2001, 2 brothers, David and Howard Maxwell, 2 sisters, Caroline Fuller and Alice Christie. Joseph E. A memorial service will be Monday, 5:00 P.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. with Pastor Phil DiSabatino officiating. Friends may call Monday from 3-5 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Joe's first marriage was to Dorothea P. Burdette of Roane Co. WV.
