| I am researching the John Tocher Family that emigrated to the Winnipeg and Miniota areas of Manitoba Canada in 1908. My father Norman Tocher was born in 1912 at Miniota. All of the rest of the family came from the Aberdeen area of Scotland.There were 13 children.My Grandfather John is buried at the Little Britian Church near Lower Fort Gary Manitoba.Also buried there is an Aunt Louisa.In Winnipeg Brookside cemetary I found an Aunt Annie Tocher.She married a Charles Mitchell around 1910 To 1917.She died 11/1918.If anyone has info on the C.Mitchell it would be appreciated,as would any information on my Grandfather in Manitoba.He passed away in 1922.St.Boniface Hospital.The rest of the family including my Grandmother moved to Alberta and British Columbia.My uncle John became the first Warden in Yoho National Park after serving in the first world war.Two other uncles also served in the war Douglas and George. |
