2. ARTHUR2 DAVIS (CHRISTOPHER1) was born Abt. 1755 in North Carolina, and died Abt. 1830 in Montgomery County Georgia. He married MARY VICK.

Notes for ARTHUR DAVIS:
Arthur Davis was born about 1755 in North Carolina, it is thought that he is the oldest son of Christopher and Mary Davis of Anson County North Carolina. Christopher Davis died testate in Anson County North Carolina in 1786 and his will was probated there April 6, 1786. The will devised his estate to his wife and sons; Arthur, Thomas, Lewis and John Davis and four daughters. Arthur and Lewis Davis moved to Washington County Georgia in the latter 1790's. Arthur Davis moved to Montgomery County Georgia. Arthur Davis married Mary Vick of Anson County North Carolina.

Soon after his marriage to Mary Vick, Arthur moved to Cheraw District South Carolina for a few years in the 1780's. While in South Carolina he served in the South Carolina Militia in the Revolutionary War. He was paid for his service in 1785 for 185 days (Book "R", page 71, Stub Indents, South Carolina Revolutionary War Records by Salley). Mary, his widow later drew land in the Cherokee Land Lottery in Georgia ( page 377, Knight's Georgia Roster of the Revolution).

Around 1788, Arthur Dais and family moved back to Anson County North Carolina and lived there until about 1798. He then moved to Washington County Georgia. Anson County North Carolina Deed records indicate that he was a resident there in 1788 and until 1793; these records also show a deed from him of Georgia to Drury Allen of Anson Co. dated Oct. 6, 1798 for 50 acres of land in Anson County (Deed Book "F" page 141). Another deed to Drury Allen dated Jan. 27, 1801 for 150 acres (Deed Book "H2", page 345), both of these two deed were made while Arthur was residing in Washington County Georgia. By 1805 Arthur Davis had mad his way to Montgomery County Georgia where he resided until his death around 1830.
