Chatsworth people were shocked and grieved Monday morning to learn of the death of William Todden, Sr., who passed away at 5:20 that morning from a paralytic stroke.
Deceased suffered a light stroke at about 7 o'clock Saturday morning but seemed to recover after a short time. He remained at home but was up Sunday and undressed himself Sunday night and when he retired assured his children that he was all right. About 2 o'clock Monday morning he was striken again and became unconscious from which he never rallied.

When he was a lad of 11 summers he came with his parents to America and resided in Pekin, Illinois. Eight years later he with his first bride moved in a farm near Avoca, Illinois. To that union two daughters and one son were born; the boy preceded him in death. The two daughters now living are Mrs. Dora Bishell, of Spring Bay, Illinois,

of the Methodist church and in his earlier life was quite active in church affairs.
