James B. Black (b. Abt. 1800, d. date unknown)

James B. Black was born Abt. 1800 in Bracken County Ky., and died date unknown. He married Rachel Black on 19 Aug 1824 in Bracken County Ky., daughter of John Black and Drusilla.

Notes for James B. Black:
James B. Black is probably the son of William Black and Elizabeth Taylor. This would make him Rachel's first cousin which was often the case back then. James clearly had a brother names William that was born in Bracken co. Ky. in 1808. They were neighbors in Green co. Pa , Bracken co. Ky. and 1880 in Lewis co. Ky. William tended to move followed by James. On all census records they are clearly the same families. However the 1880 Lewis co. Ky. census record for James Black's family the birth places of every one are changed to Va. The wife's name is different and son James birth date is 10 years off. This could be explained by the possibility the census taker may have talked to a neighbor that didn't know the facts. Another possibility is they may have lied themselves to hide the fact they were from Bracken co. James B. Black does have a criminal record in Bracken co. that I have not read yet.
