He is on the 1775 state census of NC. From most of the Deed [books] of Pitt County we klnow he lived next door to Walter Meeks through the years. After the death of Walter Meeks he and Deana [Darcus Meeks] are witt. to a deed of jacob Meeks andSovern Meeks [Pitt Co, Deed Book M, p.429]. The deed of 28 Aug 1790 [Pitt Co,Deed Book M p.112] with Francis Meeks and Darcus Meeks as Grantor have Brittain Meeks as a witness.
