This page primarily regards the descendants of JOHN TOMBERLIN (1774-1854) of Irwin County, Georgia. JOHN TOMBERLIN settled in Georgia about 1790 in Burke, Wilkinson, and finally Irwin County (1832). He was a veteran of the War of 1812 and a prominent citizen and landowner in southern Georgia. The parentage of JOHN TOMBERLIN is uncertain. There is an old family tradition that states that the father of JOHN TOMBERLIN was MOSES TOMBERLIN, son of ERIN TOMBERLIN. However, except for the tradition, this cannot be verified. On this site, I have listed JOHN WILLIAM TOMBERLIN (b. 1748) as the father of JOHN TOMBERLIN. There is evidence of a JOHN TOMBERLIN in Georgia who served in the Revolutionary War, and received a grant of bounty reserve land in 1784.

I am a descendant of JOHN TOMBERLIN (b. 1774) and his son, THOMAS TOMBERLIN (1813-1885) who moved to Appling County, Georgia in 1854. According to the 1880 US Census, Thomas was living in Wilcox County, Georgia with JAMES and NANCY DAVIS. Nancy is believed to be his youngest daughter. I would like to make contact with the descendants of James and Nancy Davis.

Please contact me with any information you may have concerning our family. If you have old family photographs, documents, letters, or stories that you would like to share, please send them to me.

"The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make his face shine on you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace" (Numbers 6:24-26).
