John A. Tomberlin, Civil War Military Documents
John A. Tomberlin (1843-1929)served in the Confederate States Army from 1862-1865. He was made a prisoner of war in 1865. He was released from Pt. Lookout Maryland after he made an oath of allegiance to the United States. This document states that John A. Tomberlin signed such an oath and is important in that it contains a physical description.
