Samuel Carvell (b. 20 Jul 1816, d. Jun 1898)

Samuel Carvell (son of Samuel Carvell and Sarah Bottril)⁴⁰⁷ was born 20 Jul 1816 in Churchover, Warwickshire^{408, 409}, and died Jun 1898 in Walcote, Leicestershire⁴⁰⁹. He married Jane Brown on Abt. 1845, daughter of Edward Brown and Sarah Unknown.

Notes for Samuel Carvell:
There were a William, Joseph, John and James Carvell all having children around the same time as this Samuel, and all living in or from the same area (Walcote, Misterton, Lutterworth). They may be brothers and sons of Samuel and Sarah.

Samuel, born 1816, is living with his widowed daughter Sarah and her one child at the time of the 1881 census. In 1891 he is listed alone with granddaughter Margaret, so by this time Sarah Ann has either died or remarried, leaving her daughter with grandad.

There is a Samuel Carvel, aged 20 (though ages were rounded for the census), living in Claybrooke in the 1841 census and working as an agricultural labourer. This might explain how Samuel met Jane Brown.
