Notes for James Hughes: In 1901, according to the census, only one Woodside Cottage is occupied, by a Mary Hughes, aged 50 and almost blind. In 1891, again according to the census, many Woodside Cottages housed families, including James and Mary Ann Hughes (no children yet).
