Isaac Holmes was the 5th child of William Holmes and Elizabeth Beryl Delong Holmes. He was born in 1839 inTuscawar Co., OH, and in 1860 married Lorenda Bishop. Isaac and Lorenda (1845-1872) were the parents of Almeda Holmes Caskey, wife of Washington George Caske.

Washington "Wash" Caskey was born in 1858 in Madison Co., IA. He was the son of George Washington Caskey and Martha Tisdale Caskey. He was the father of Homer F. Caskey, my grandfather.

George Washington Caskey was born in 1829 in Wayne Co., IA. In 1854 he married Marth Ann Tisdale. They had 2 sons, Robert Tisdale Caskey and Washington George Caskey. He fought in the civil War, and was killed in action in 1863 at Bear Creek, Miss.

Martha Ann Tisdale (daughter of Robert Tisdale and Minerva Forsythe)was born in 1832 in Clark Co., OH. She was the wife of George Washington Caskey, and mother of Washington George Caskey. After George W. was killed in the Civil War, she married Archibald Holmes. Martha died in 1912.

Elizabeth Beryl Delong was the daughter of Solomon Delong and Margaret McKinney Delong. She was born in 1808 in OH, and married William Holmes in 1830. They had 11 chldren, among them Isaac Holmes (father of Almeda Holmes Caskey) Elizabeth died in 1874.

Homer F. Caskey was the son of Washington George Caskey and Almeda Holmes Caskey. He was born in 1882, and married Zoabar "Mettie" Stemen in 1903. They had 5 sons (the 4th of which died shortly after birth). Their second son was Herman D. Caskey (my father). Mettie died in 1965, and Homer in 1970. Their life was lived in service to the church, beginning in 1907 as Pastor Emeritus of South River Church in Osceola, Ia.
