| I am looking for the family of Robert Henry Howell, born March 7, 1788 in VA. He married Dorothy V. Briggs July 6, 1813 in Powhatan County, VA. Her father was John Briggs and her mother's name was Ann Lockett. Robert Henry and his family moved to GA about 1814 and then settled in Spring Place, GA before settling in McMinn County, TN. Which then became in part, Polk County, TN. Robert Henry Howell died in McMinn County on January 31, 1834 and is buried at Spring Place, GA in the Moravian Church Cemetery. His widow, Dorothy, remained in Polk County where she married a second time to Hamilton Wilson after 1840 as she was found on the 1850 census as his wife but then again widowed by 1860. Several members of this Howell family remained in Polk County but my ggggrandfather took his family on to Smith and Comanche County,TX. We have information from 1788 to current for anyone wishing to see if you connect in anyway to this family or have information on the parents of either Robert Henry Howell or Dorothy V. Briggs. Dorothy's father is John Briggs of VA but there are several of them and we have not been able to pinpoint which one.
