J'ai commencé ce travail en 1978 et je le trouve encore passionnant!
Jersey est une des iles anglo-normandes, située entre l'Angleterre et la France.Il ne reste qu'une seule et unique famille Trachy la-bas, aucune à Guernsey! Les autres ont emigrés au Quebec, puis ailleurs au Canada ,en Gaspesie surtout!et aux Etats-Unis.
Je n'ai jamais trouve d'autres familles avec ce nom rare et bizarre, ailleurs dans le monde...
Jersey is one of the Channel Islands, in between France and England. There is only one TRACHY family left in Jersey, none in Guernsey! The others immigrated to Quebec,Canada and the U.S.A.
I never found any other Trachy's family anywhere else in the world.
I started this genealogy in 1978 and still find it interesting! A real passion!

Richard Trachy born in 1275 was in 1331 of the twelve jurymen in the parish. He was probably the originator of the Trachy line which follows.

Benjamin Trachy, co-owner of a schooner "The three sisters" came to Quebec from JERSEY with 2 of his sons, Abraham (1794-1871) and Edouard(1800-1887) who never returned to Jersey because they fell in love with 2 sisters, Louise et Suzanne Bourget.Abraham and Edouard who were part of the Church of England became catholics the day before their wedding.On the next pages, you'll find a little bit more about their descendants ( Over4000names)

Du cote de GUERNSEY, nous savons que Daniel Trachy est le fondateur de la branche Québecoise (Region de Ste-Henedine,Dorchester)
Serge Trachy (Quebec) et Bob Trachy (USA) ont trouve la plupart des descendants de Daniel
From GUERNSEY, we know that Daniel Trachy is the ancestor of the Trachy from the Ste-Henedine,Dorchester area.
Serge Trachy in Quebec and Bob Trachy in the USA found many descendants of Daniel.
