Loyd Ross Brantley (son of Carroll Brantley and Melinda Mann) was born September 02, 1903 in Cooper, Delta Co., Texas, and died October 10, 1976 in Duncan, Stephens Co., Oklahoma. He married Mary Magadalene Melton on December 14, 1924 in Hastings, Jefferson Co., Oklahoma, daughter of James Edgar Lee Melton and Didamiah Elizabeth Cook.

Notes for Loyd Ross Brantley:
I remember one trip to Aunt Maggie and Uncle Loyd's with my parents as a young child. Uncle Loyd had diabetes, but was always sneaking something sweet. On that trip Aunt Maggie had made a German Chocolate cake. We had a piece together in the back of the kitchen, listening so Aunt Maggie wouldn't sneak up on us. I later learned that Uncle Loyd was so sick from it that the next day he could hardly get out of bed.
