My Bolliger family according to information which I have on hand, emigrated from Switzerland in 1881 to New York and then from there to West Virginia.
My GGrandfather Fred J Bolliger married Roanna Anna Hickman and they had 12 children. They lived in Taylor County, Grafton, West Virginia and my grandfther, Charles Samuel Bolliger moved to Akron, Ohio and worked in the Akron Tire Factory. He married and had 3 daughters and one son who was my father, Thistle Michael Bolliger.
I have a newspaper article saying that my GGGrandfather, Samuel Bolliger and his Wife Mary also came to West Virginia with their family in 1881 but I have yet to find where they lived and died.
My Bolliger Family worked for the Railroad and I understand that some were coal miners, some were engineers, etc.
I do have quite a bit of information on this family both documented and hearsay.
I would love to find Samuel Bolliger who was the original emigrant.
If you have any questions or have anything to add, it would be deeply appreciated and I would be more then happy to share what I have also.

On my maternal side, I have Chelf which is my mother's maiden name and this family goes back to Virginia in Germanna and on back to Germany . There is a lot of information on this line except for Philip Chelf. His past has lain in the shadows for years and I have not gotten much more about him then what you see here and a lot of speculation as you will find out if you check into the Chelf family.

The Irish side belongs mainly to my husband's side of the family. I am researching The Treacy's also because of him and his interest in finding his ancestors and from where in Ireland they have their roots.
I have a lot of stories but no proof but sometimes the proof lies in the telling of the stories through the ages.
I hope you find something here and if you have anything to offer, please E-mail me.
Happy Hunting
