Notes for William Joseph Trepanier: Known as "Buck" Trepanier. Owned and operated Trepanier's Grocery Store, along with his wife Agnes, nearly 50 years, located on south cornor of Brazeau Avenue and Pecor Street in French Town part of Oconto. Delivered to customers with horse and wagon then with panel truck and son Galen used his Indian Motorcycle with side car. Liked to play cards after work at LeMay's tavern on Pecor St. Smoked cigars and wore a felt brim hat always. He would give credit to the families of the loggers that went into the woods for the winter and when they were paid in the spring he would get paid. He made a living but never got rich, he was a very generous person. He belonged to St Peter's Catholic Church, located 1 block north of his store on Brazeau Ave. Buck and his wife Agnes would run a hamburger stand for the church's yearly 4th of July celebration to earn money for the church. Tradition was to have the family over for Sunday Dinner, which was either Chicken or beef roast with all the trimmings. He became ill with liver cancer and died in 1956 at his home at the age of 68. Agnes lived in their home for another 20 some years until her death in 1977. The home still stands at the north east cornor of Gale Street and Messenger Ave., but the grocery store has been torn down and the property is part of a wide turn onto Pecor St to accomidate trucks with trailors, especially Cruiser Boat Carriers.
