| My maiden name is Durtschi. My great-great-grandfather, Friedrick, came from Faulensee, Switzerland on April 14, 1904. My husband’s family is currently unaware of who their first “American” ancestor was, but a Triplett is known to have been one of the first English Governors of the Virginia Colony. We have traced his line back through John Triplett, born in North Carolina around 1788. I am currently researching the Knight family line. I have traced them back through Spencer Booth Knight, born in Rusk County, Texas on June 12, 1881. Some of my sources say his parents were C.A. Knight (born in Virginia) and married in 1880 to Susan Antnett Robertson. Other sources list Spencer’s parents as Samuel Archibald Knight (born in Kentucky) and Daisy “Dink” Robertson. Any information clarifying this family, or on the parents and siblings would be greatly appreciated. I have personal histories (very interesting reading) on: Bub or Bob Meeks (a member of “The Wild Bunch” born ~1869); Henry Rhoads (born 1712) and Catherine Rinehart (born about 1717); Henry Rhodes Meeks (born 1841) and Elmira Ann Mecham; Joseph Brigham Meeks (born Jan 8, 1850); William Meeks Jr. (born Feb 18, 1847); Bernard Hugh Moyle (born Sep 8, 1912) and Mable Pearl Knight (born Jun 17, 1912); Ruel B. Triplett (born Mar 24, 1907); Spencer Booth Knight and Grace Bland (bon Jan 28, 1888); John Erickson (born Sep 27, 1854) and Margaret Sariah McDonald (born Jan 15, 1860). I also have information on the following families: Durtschi, Meeks, Triplett, Meacham, Erickson, McDonald, Nisonger, Moyle, Trewhitt, Stevens, Brady and Rhoads. I’m willing to share any information I have that would help you in your efforts. If you have any information on the families listed above, I’d like to hear from you! |
