Instructions to subscribe to the Drollinger/Trol(l)inger/Trul(l)inger List Server

Some time ago, I offered to Gordon Drollinger, who has supplied your names, to establish a Drollinger Mailing List here at altlaw.com. My internet provider, Jim Altman, a lawyer in my building, has provided such mailing list services for free for several other of the surnames of interest to me. Those other lists range in number from as few as 10 to as many as 80 subscribers.

The real value of such a mailing List is that, once you are subscribed, you need only send a message to one address -- in this instance, the address will be Drollinger@altlaw.com --- and the software then distributes that message to everyone who has subscribed. Thus, there is no need to list every address, as Gordon has previously done, to mail a message to all of those interested.

subscribe Drollinger

You should receive an acknowledgment that you are subscribed. From that point on, unless you unsubscribe, you will receive messages sent to that list. Also, you can send a message to the list.

REMEMBER: to send a message to the list, don't send it to listserver@altlaw.com but rather send it to: Drollinger@altlaw.com

I hope all of you interested in the D(T)rol(l)inger line will subscribe and I look forward to working with you on our common genealogical lines.

Cheers. John Myer, Atlanta, GA (jrmyer@altlaw.com)

PS: a REMINDER: once you are a subscriber, DO NOT SEND LARGE FILE ATTACHMENTS TO THE LIST. Instead, better practice is to let the list know you have such a large file, and let people tell you to send a copy to them individually. Also, we can establish, in due course, both a Drollinger WebPage and an FTP site where large files can be posted and downloaded by those interested in having their own copy. JMyer
