Account of Henry Adams and Phoebe Elliott. Henry Adams - born Nov. 18, 1875 near Graysville, Ind. Died Mar 22, 1972 - buried near Walnut Hill East of Centralia, ill. Phoebe Ellen Elliott- born May 26, 1875 in Clark Co. Il. North of Annapolis, Ill. in a log cabin - Died Oct. 7, 1916 - Buried in Partlow Cemetary - south of Casey Il. Henry and Phoebe were married Dec 21, 1895

Henry's father was Samuel Adams and his mother was Alice Wade - Don't know birthplace or dates. Samuel died at the age of 33 yrs and Alice then married John Monk. All are buried in Union Cemetary west and north of Graysville Ind. Henry's mother was related to Queen Victoria of England.

Phoebe's mother was born in Clarke Co. South of Casey Il. Her ........Rohanna, County, Virginia, ??? Nevertire Partlow. Her parents were John and Lydia Bennett Partlow. John was a circuit rider Preacher sometimes going on foot and is buried in a grave _____ one of solid rock in a mountain in Arkansas. Phoebe's father was John Elliott. He was in the civil war at age 16. He enlisted in 1861 and served until 1864. He was a corporal. He was in company "D" of the 1st regiment, Engineers Missouti - Vol. He was in action at New Madison Missouti Mar. 13, 1862 and Island # 10. He was in the siege of Catinth Mississippi and in Vicksburg, Miss. and the battle of Jonesboro, Georgia Sept. 1864. He was discharged on Nov 1, 1864 - from a 3 yr term. John died - March 22, 1922. - buried in Partlow Cemetary south of Casey Il.

Phoebe's mother, Rohanna Partlow died April 17, 1926 and is buried in Partlow Cemetary. Phoebe's grandfather faught in the Indian War. His name is William Elliott. Don't know his wife's name. They are buried at Wesley Chapel Cemetary north of Annapolis.

John and Rohanna Elliott's oldest son James N. Elliott was in the Spanish American War.

Henry and Phoebe's son Samuel was in WWII. They had a foster son Willard Hunt who was killed in WWI. Other children of Henry and Phoebe were Queen, Ella, Geni__,Johnny, (Pearl, Earl) twins, Verlia, & Muriel. After Phoebe died, Henry married Edith Smith. Their son Jesse (Jack) & William were in WWII. Their daughter Mildred's husband, Milas Clanahan was taken prisoner in WWII. John Elliott was 81 and Rohanna was 83 when they died.
