WILL OF HANNAH CLEMENS

 

I Hannah Clemens do make declare and publish this my last will and testament, revoking all others heretofore made by me.

I direct that my executor herein after named shall sell all my real and personal property of every kind and as rapidly as possible convert the same into money.  He shall sell it either at public or private sale so it is converted into money to the best advantage, and furnish evidence of title to the buyer and conveyance to the same.

When all expenses are paid and the money collected the executor of my state is required to device the same into equal parts, which he shall pay to the persons named hereinafter as legatees, and take the receipts of the adults and of the guardians of the minors.

I hereby will devise and bequeath all my estate to the following persons, to wit: Mary Gandy wife of Amos J. Gandy, James Cox the son of Mary Gandy, Cecilia Lecroix Row, Mary Lecroix, Maria Lecroix and John Lecroix these last four persons being the children of my sister, also Lucretia Trumbo, Washington Trumbo, Palina Marshall, William Trumbo, John Trumbo and the two children of Camelus Trumbo as one person, he being dead, them being the decendants of another sister.

My executor in equal parts will pay all my estate to these persons after the same is converted into cash as above provided.

I will that before the division of the estate among the above legatees, my executor shall provid me with a descant burial and mark my resting place with a plain marble slab suitably inscribed.

I hereby appoint John F. McCartney my executor of this my last will and testament and empower him after my death to take charge of my estate and carry out its provissions.

In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my hand and affixed my seal this July 26th AD 1880 in the presence of these witnesses.

The above written instrument was subscribed by the above named Hannah Clemens in our presence and acknowledged and declared by her to us and to each of us as her free act and deed, and she declared the above instrument so subscribed to be her last will and testament and we as the testators request and in her presence have signed our names as witnesses hereto and written opposite our names our respectave place of residence.
