Union Christian Church, one of the "Twin Churches" is located in Carson Twp.... The history of the church begins about 1860, when a small congregation met in the homes of members. About 1870, John H. Welch deeded to the congregation a track of land on which to build a church to be used by all denominations. Members built the church from timber donated by the members. Beams and sills were hand-hewn and fastened together with wooden pegs. Much of the original structure remains today. Furniture was handmade and the building heated with two wood stoves. The church was dedicated by Rev. George Bridges, who served as its pastor for six years. ...
