Researching all Bridgman or Bridgeman family names. Am putting together a book which has been contributed to by various Bridgman/Bridgeman families across USA. I may have your family.Researching: BRIDGMAN, BRIDGEMAN, CARNES, DUNHAM, NELSON, CHANEY, SWEENEY, CANNON, VALENTINE, FOWLER, SPIKER, CANNON, ERVIN, MOORE, MCCARTY, HARDIN, HARDEN, WHITTEN, REED, BONNIFIELD, COLLINS, GIBSON, MAY, plus others. My branch of Bridgman, Philip first appears on 1820 census in Harison Co., OH. He and his wife and oldest son live next door to her parents Thomas Carnes who married Elizabeth Dunham. Philip was born abt 1796 (DE or MD) d 1846 in Harrison Co. Wife, Sarah A. Carnes, born 1803 MD d 1845 in Harrison Co. They had 14 children including a set of twins; Charles C., Elizabeth, Thomas, Anna, William, John C., Zedekiah L., Adam C., Nelson W., Christopher, James Watson, Samuel H., Joshua and Arey. The sons except for Christopher and Joshua who I have been unable to track after 1860, moved to Pike Co., Il in 1850's. Elizabeth married Harrison Fowler and also moved to Pike Co., Anna married John Vickers and Arey married James N. Johnson.I have no idea who Philips parents were. In tracing other branches of the Bridgman/Bridgeman family I seem to get back to somewhere in VA and can find no other connections. I have over 15000 names of Bridgman/Bridgeman descendants in my file and many more to add. am trying to document my sources so please include what you know about where the information can be found and if you are willing to have it included in the book. Am willing to exchange information I have on your branch of the family. It is my feeling that publication of this Bridgman/Bridgman Family Genes book will facilitate others with their search as well as help those of us who contribute. Please also indicate if you want your name published as contributor of your branch of the family. Also have extensive information on Carnes, Dunham and Chaney families. Please send what you have. This past week I have been able to provide two and three generations of ancestors for others from e-mail queries.Look forward to hearing from YOU!
