>Aloha...my greeting of love to all: whoever will come across these lines. I find myself in a thick forest of family names. I would like to get out of the dark undergrowth of roots and the cacophony of vines, from the mysterious overgrowth of foliage not clearly identified as to its species and origins.I need to make a clearing in the jungle,a helipod, if you will, for my roving self-copter...in my self-willed determination to make sense of the genealogical heap of names:the likes of which may or may not seem familiar to you: Tubera,Tuvera,Tovera, Tavera? Saribay,Savellano,Ramos,Somera,Fajardo,Castillo,Decasa? Can you see yourself in the milieu? My purpose and direction is to make a symphony of communication, a syncophated harmony of sounds, names and bloodlines for a sence of place and belonging, and a better understanding of the relationships, the spreading and the converging of circumstances and events and their formation.Yes, to untangle the twirls of branches from the merging and intermingling blood lines.I must point out that the surnames may exists in variant forms and spellings.I'm trying to trace ancestors back to the mid-1800's. The reference points of origin include any region in the Philippines during the Hispanic period : 1520 to 1898; the Hawaiian Islands before the annexation in 1959, and the state of California in the early 1900's.>I would appreciate receiving information leading to the "discovery" of "lost" relatives, and the linking of the bonds of kinship floating out there... I want to see myself outside the picture frame looking at myself inside the picture, viewing the panorama of relationships, close and distant, clear or mystifying, solid or abstract, captivating or memerizing. You are invited to be part of the experience, or experience the experience itself. Be ready to be exalted or dumbfounded. Just don't lose or give up your pride and self-esteem. Your responsibility is to be yourself. No one else is fit or qualified for the job. |
