NC.Before 1790 they moved to Greenville Co., SC, near the present day Travelers Rest.A mountain near this town is named "TUBB MOUNTAIN" and a road that passes around the mountain is called "TUBB MOUNTAIN ROAD".According to a reported historical reference this mountain and road werenamed for George Tubb. They appeared in the census records for SC. George and Mary lived in Orange Co., NC., before 1790 they moved to Greenville, SC., settling near the present day town of Travelers Rest, a mountain near this town is named "Tubbs Mountain2."George Tubb furnished horses for the Revolutionary Troops3. A pension was recorded in 1800, No. 6765 for George Tubb4. At a meeting of the head of Enore Church in Nov. 1799, a report of the constitution of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Pendleton Co., SC. entered the Bethel Association, one of the delegates being George Tubb5.

George and Mary may have been married in Orange Co., North Carolina.Some sources say Mary was a Turner before she married George , but we have no proof yea or nea. Mary may have died
before 1800, the census index has a female over 45 in the household.George and Mary lived in Orange County North Carolina prior to the American Revolution, but shortly before the Revolution they moved to
Tryon County ( now Rutherford County ) North Carolina in 1761, when Susannah was born per Susannah's application for Wm. Tabor's Rev. War pension).George bought 195 acres from John Stanford on the First Little Broad River in Tryon Co., NC. Witnessed by William Capshaw, Abraham Hargis and John Fisher. Book unknown page 50-51 July 25, 1774. George and Mary sold this land to William Graham of Lincoln Co.,NC witnessed by Morris Roberts and William Mc?; Book ? Page 411, Nov. 14, 1784.Before 1790 they moved to Greenville County South Carolina settling near the present day town of Travelers Rest.A mountain near this town was named "Tubb's Mountain".According to a reported historical reference this mountain was named for George Tubb. George could not write; he made
his mark as an " X " on official documents.They moved with their daughter Susannah Tabor and other members of the Tabor family. The Tabor and Tubb families organized the Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Oconee County, formerly Pendleton District.

"At the meeting of Head of Enoree Church the Saturday before the first Sunday in November 1799 a report was made of the Constitution of the Keowee and Little River brothern named Shoal Church cosisting of thirteen members chiefly of the Tabor and Tubb families." This Church entered the Bethel Association in 1800 with 29 members. James Courtney and James Tubb were delegates.
