* The Jacqueline Tumlinson Family Home Page*

Updated September 6, 2000

I am currently researching the Tumlinson family from parts of North Carolina, Tennessee, Illinois, Arkansas, and Texas. Information that has been gathered by family members dates the Tumlinsons back to the early 1700's. After settling in Texas, many of the men in the family became part of the Texas Rangers, and one family member, George Tumlinson even sacrificed his life in March 1836 at the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas.
The earliest birthdate I have is for a James Tumlinson who was born in 1783. He was married to a woman named Elizabeth who was born on July 26, 1781

Any information regarding the Tumlinsons involvement in the Texas Rangers would greatly aide in my quest to fill out our family tree.

I am also researching the MC CARTHA family. My information goes as far back as Grover Cleveland Mc Cartha. Some family members may now have their last name spelled "MC CARTHY". When Andrew Jackson MC CARTHA enlisted in the United States Military they changed the spelling of his last name to MC CARTHY.

Any and all information would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone needs any information that I may have, feel free to ask.
