Anthony (Tony) Turner of Bokkham, Surrey, England
I am researching both my family tree and that of my wife Jennifer Beatrice Turner (nee Tully). The Turner family has been traced Hull in the 17th century and has been prominent in the Church of England. My Turner grandmother's maiden name was Hankey and her family founded a bank in the 19th century and were also churchmen. Her family was linked to the Hostes of Norfolk (originally dutch) who sold Sandringham estate to the royal family: the most famous member traced was Captain Sir William Hoste Bt who served under Nelson. My mother's maiden name was Lazenby from Yorkshire who were in the food business mainly sauces; my grandmother's maiden name was Lawson-Johnson (her brother being the first Lord Luke of Pavenham)the started the manufacture of Bovril in Glasgow - at that time the name was just Johnson. My wife's Tully family lived in the Croydon area; her mother's maiden name was Hurley also from Croydon though earlier from Bermondsey. | Anthony (Tony) Turner of Bokkham, Surrey, England Updated September 6, 2000 |
