About Our Family Research

What starting as assembling a family phone book in 1997 has turned into a research project.

My great, great grandmother, Lydia, was a captive African whose ship docked in Savannah, GA circa 1850. Lydia eventually lived on a the Pepper's Plantation in Holmes Co. MS. - Somewhere between Pickens and Richland. Lydia had three daughters (known to us) Maggie, and the twins, Mary and Martha. Martha was my great grandmother.

Daniel was my great grandfather.

Martha's children were: Julia, Ollie, Lela, Clara, Bessie, John Will, Willie Ed, and Benjamin Lindsey. Martha had a "step-son", Blair.
