Find Family
This site was created to display my Turner line and Thigpen line, and associated lines and families. The purpose is to help other amateur genealogists as well as myself unlock the mysteries of our forefathers. All information is from others as well as my research, and sources will be provided. If you have information to add, changes you think I should make, source material to help or photos to give our ancestors a face, please write at turboturn@aol.com.

My paternal line, the Turners, came from the highlands of Scotland to Ireland, to the Chesapeake Bay area in the late 1600s. Many Turners and other area families came to Washington/Hancock Counties of Georgia in the late 1790s. Now, descendents of these pioneers are dispursed all over the country, including Alaska. My source for their origin in Scotland is the "Turner-Parker Pedigree", and the Philip Turner bible, which I haven't been able to locate.

My maternal side, the Thigpens, came from England to North Carolina and my line came to the Washington/Hancock County area of Georgia in the early 1800s. Most of my Thigpen information is from the book, "The Thigpen Family" by Luther Thigpen, a distant cousin.
