Jasper took as his second wife Cathryne Jeanette "Nettie" Thrasher, daughter of John and Polly Ann (Seiver) Thrasher (see Allied Families: Seiver, Thrasher) of Bernadotte Twp., Fulton county, Illinois. Jasper Crusen died August 6, 1916 in Macomb, Illinois. Nettie married twice after Jasper's death. In 1918 she married R. Alex Clark, who died in 1926. She then married John T. McClure in 1927. During her last years Nettie suffered greatly from diabetes. According to family records, in March 1932 she "had her left leg taken off six inches below the knee at Phelps hospital" in Macomb.
