I am researching Skelton, (have back to Isaac), DePriest, Durham,Whitehead, Sharp, Mathis, Reeves, Hinson, James, Kelly, Davidson,
Dabbs and others.Most of my family have been in Middle Tennessee
area for about 150 years. Also from N. Carolina, Georgia, South
Carolina, Virginia, Tx., and other southern states.
I am really trying to find info on William Whitehead, b. 1834/35, and his first wife, as I believe her to be my GGgrandmother. He was married to Polly (may be Mary) Dabbs in the 1880 cenus of Wayne Cty, Tn. My Ggrandfather (William's son), was named Jay Hugh b. 12/1859 and my grandfather was Robert Franklin. My info indicates that William's father and grandfather were also named William, from NC, and Jackson, Lincoln and Wayne Cty. Tn.
My husbands family includes Tuverson, Smith, Hawes, Dockray and Wilbor. Some of his family are found in Ohio, Wi, England, Rhode Island, Ca.,Sweden, Fl., and other northeastern states. We really need help here! I have only been researching for about two months,so this is very much a work in progress.
