You will find information on the Twing/Thwing family as well as the medieval Thweng family on this page. There is a genealogy of Benjamin Thwing, who migrated to Boston from Hull, England in 1635, and his descendants. There is also a genealogy of Samuel Twing and his descendants. (Samuel is a descendant of Benjamin of course)Samuel was the first member of the family to migrate to the Berkshires. He arrived in the Sandisfield area about 1800. His children spread out across the country to Ohio, Connecticut and some remained in the Berkshires. Names which are prominent in this genealogy include; Dunham, Fairbanks, Perkins, Davis, Webb, Turner, Selleck, Newcomb, Hotchkiss, Knapp, Hall, Hadsell, Doud, Kendall. |
