He owned a fine farm of 150 acres on Hackers Creek near Rural Dale, Upshur Co., W. Va. He was also a very eminent minister in the M. E. Church and was held in high esteem and greatly loved by all who knew him. He was very widely known throughout that section of the country and was kept so busy performing marriages and preaching funerals that he could not properly take care of pastoral work. He was a wonderful preacher. He read his Bible and prayed every morning and evening. The writer knows whereof he speaks because he stayed with him quite a bit and boarded with him, and went to two terms of school to two of his sons, namely, Isaiah and Silas W. Bennett. He was twice married. His first wife was Miss Elisabeth Marple, a daughter of John and Miss Barbara (Weaver) Marple. He was married on June 22, 1829, and to this marriage were born three sons into the third generation of the Queen family. Rev. Elias Bennett and Moses Marple each had a sister named Elisabeth.
