121. GRANVIL DEXTER5 MARPLE (ELIZABETH4 BENNETT, MARY3 QUEEN, CHARLES2, CHARLES1) was born June 28, 1833 in Harrison County, Virginia, and died 1912. He married ELIZA LOUDIN February 14, 1856, daughter of WALTER LOUDIN and NANCY CONLEY.

Granvil Dexter Marple, a son of Moses Marple and Miss Elisabeth (Betty, Queen) Marple, was (born June 28, 1833) in Harrison County, Virginia. His father settled on Pecks Run after moving from Harrison County. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Loudin. He was an excellent farmer in the Buckhannon District near Lorentz and owned 230 Acres. He held offices in the District and County for a number of years since the formation of the Upshur County in 1861. His first office was Constable from 1854 to 1856. He served as County supervisor from 1866 to 1868.
He served as Upshur County Land Assessor for one term and was Upshur County Personal Property Assessor for eight years. He served as Justice of the Peace for one year and was elected Sheriff of Upshur County in 1880.

Elsie Marple was the head nurse in the David City Hospital in David City, Nebraska. She lived and died at the home of her brother, Albert J. Marple.

Albert Jenkins Marple son of Granville Dexter and Eliza ( Loudin ) Marple was born March 19, 1857 in Buckhannon District, Randolph County, now Upshur County, Virginia. He was raised on his parents farm. In the winter he attended school and in the summer he helped on the farm which was typical for that time as children from farms did not go to school 9 months and then had summers off.
He finished his education at French Creek Institute.
He taught school for four years and the was made Deputy Sheriff with his father from 1881to 1885 and then was elected Sheriff from 1893 to 1897.

Abram Bennett, a son of Silas Bennett, and Miss Rebecca (Crites) Bennett of the third generation of the Queen family, was (born July 12, 1838) on Turkey Run. He was a fine carpenter. He died in 1937. He was buried in the old Mount Lebanon Bennett Cemetery. He was a farmer and served through the Civil War with the Union Army. He married Miss Elizabeth (Betty) Mick (born 1833, died, 1907).
