| The earliest Ude ancestor we have traced is Friedrich Ude, born about 1770 in Wrescherode, Gandersheim, Germany. He married Christine Brinkmann and they had a daughter, Christine Henriette Hedwig, b. Mar. 20, 1797, and at least two sons, Johann Heinrich Christian Friedrich Ude, b.Aug. 1, 1800 and Friedrich, b. Nov. 1810. Presumably all were born in Wrescherode. Johann, whose given name was Friedrich, married Johanne Rosine Wilhelmine Giesecke on Apr. 4, 1831 in Gittelde, Germany. The earliest Giesecke ancestor we know of was Hans Giesecke, born in Gittelde, Germany in 1620. Friedrich and Wilhelmine and nine children sailed from Bremen in 1849 and arrived in New Orleans, Jan. 14, 1850, enroute to St. Louis, MO. Also researching McARTHUR. Earliest we have is John F. McArthur, b. May 15, 1864, who married Minnie Martin, b. Mar. 11, 1868, possibly in Kentucky. Minnie's mother was Mrs. Martha Martin, b. Sept. 17, 1841, probably in Kentucky. Also EIME (von Eime/von Einem). Earliest I have is Hans von Einem, b. 1604 in Orxhausen, Germany. This is quite a complete line. Other directly related lines: SEITER, MICHLER and REFEISS (All in Missouri); McMILLAN back to about 1716 Kintyre,Scotland; ROGERS (from 1855 in So. Carolina), BROWN, HARTSELL, PITTMAN and OWENS (Also in the Carolinas). |
