Notes:

Pauline Louise Peege, a sister of Robert Emil Peege, immigrated to the United States with her sister, Agnes Matilda Pegee, in 1866. They traveled aboard the Alpha, which embarked at Hamburg, Germany, and arrived at the Port of New York on 5 Jul 1866. Pauline Louise Peege married Christian Frederick Thum and settled in Louisville, KY, where the family was associated with a large furniture concern. About 1885 the Thum family moved to Franklin Township of Harrison County, IN, where they owned a farm. Pauline Peege Thum moved from Harrison County, IN, to Louisville about 1908. After 1916 she lived in New Albany, IN, with the family of her daughter, Johanna Thum Walker.

Christian Frederick Thum served with the 17th Indiana Volunteer Regiment in the Civil War from 12 Jun 1861 to 8 Aug 1865. He was the son of Karl Friedrich Thum, a coppersmith from Frankenberg, Sachsen, Germany. Karl Friedrich Thum and his wife, Henrietta Wilhelmine (nee Zacharias), immigrated to the United States with their six children in 1853. The family traveled aboard the Mississippi, which embarked at Bremen, Germany, and arrived at the Port of Baltimore on 14 Sep 1853. The Thum family settled in Olean, Ripley County, IN.
