| I am researching the families of A. William and Carol (Paladino) Underwood. The Underwood/Carroll side of our tree has its roots in Hillsboro and Columbus Ohio and Pittsburgh PA. The McCaffrey/Flaherty side are from Carnegie, and McDonald PA, and Columbus Ohio. The Paladino/Packard side is mostly from Pittsburgh and Connellsville PA. Most of the information has been passed down from older members of the family. I did gather a lot of valuable information from a scrapbook that my Paternal Grandmother kept of news and events from the Hillsboro Newspaper, and passed down to her daughter and then to my cousin Larry Watson of Painesville Ohio. I thank him for providing copies to me for this project. I would also like to thank my Aunt, Sister Alice McCaffrey for her hand-written tree of the McCaffrey/Flaherty lineage. A recent trip to Hillsboro Ohio was also useful in obtaining both names and birth and death dates for the Underwood/Carroll's. Thanks again to Larry and Marijane Watson for their help in finding the family plots in 3 cemetarys there. In addition, I would also like to thank Bob and Rose Donnelly of Wierton WVA for providing valuable information on many of the McCaffrey limbs of our tree. Bob is a cousin of my mother, Ruth McCaffrey Underwood. I am still in the process of trying to gather more information on my mother's, (McCaffrey/Flaherty) side, along with Carol's (Paladino/Packard) side as well.
