Joseph UNDERWOOD arrived in Watertown, MA from England in the 1630's. The family has migrated to ME, VT, CT, IL, OH, NY, IA, MN, OK, CO, MT, WA and AZ. Any info on the Thomas Houghton Underwood + Caziah Smith family of the mid 1800's would be greatly appreciated. They lived in Marlboro, VT and Warren county, NY. Other surnames we are researching include HINMAN in PA and Dane Co, WI; HARP in NJ and Miami Co, IN; PERSONETT in NJ, VA, OH and Miami Co, IN; HAYNES, JENNINGS, RHUTASEL, JEFFERS, NEAL all in Franklin Co, IA; SMITH, INGRAHAM, NICHOLS, RISLEY, GILLETT, LITTLE and THORP of NY, MA and CT; BAKER, MCKINLAY, VINNEDGE, GUSTAFSON, CRAIG and MORGAN. The family moved from NY to Ashtabula Co, OH and then on to Franklin Co, IA near Hampton and Chapin in the 1860-1900 time period. The 1900's led them to WI, MN, OR, CA and CO among other states.

William P JONES + Margaret WALTERS were married in OH and had 16 Children. William immigrated from Breckonshire, So Wales in 1849 and settled in Jackson county, Oak Hill, OH. He married Margaret WALTERS in 1852. They moved to Blue Earth county Cambria, MN in 1856. The children were John Pugh, Will, Ursula, Mary Anna, Ann, Stephen, Margaret, Thomas, David, Even, Walter, Edward, Gwenie, Samuel, Dora, and Elizabeth. Any help with the descendants of these children would be welcome.     Charles Jung translated to Young when he landed in Berkeley Co, VA from Germany in the late 1700's. From there the family moved to OH and then into IL.

    Isaac and Ann Compton are thought to be from NJ and lived their later years in Berkley Co, VA near Martinsburg. Some of the surnames associated with this Compton line are: Brinker, Ford, Smith, Howell, Wilhite, Wheeler, Claycomb, Prosser, Doss, Barbee, Allen, Howe, Ragan, Davis, Swope, Flenner, Merrick, Conner and Young.
  • Descendants of Ole Knudsen (20 KB)
    Ole Knudsen immigrated to Tracy, Lyon Co, MN in the late 1870's. He married Bertha Ellefsen in Norway. They changed their name to Olson upon immigration. Some of the family moved into ND and some are still living around the Mankato and Tracy area.
