The records sho that Edmond Pruett, also born as Ed. Previtt, and Pruitt, private, Company F, 11th (Spaight's) Battalion Texas volunteers (Cavalry, Artillery and Infantry), Confederate States Army, enlisted June 18, 1864, , at Beaumont, from unassigned recruits. His name appears on regimental return for the month of October, 1864, which shows him absent, sick September 20, 1864, at Home. His name is not borne on the muster rolls of that company which cover in part the period from April 21, 1862, to February, 1864. By consolidation about November 20, 1864, this company became Company F, 21st Regiment Texas Infantry (Spaight's Regiment), for which there are no rolls on file. His name appears on regimental return for the month of March, 1865, which shows him absent, "sick, March 15, 1865, on sick furlough from General Hospital Houston." He was paroled June 30, 1865, at Houston, Texas.

A.W. Spaight was Colonel of the above named regiments, and William B. Duncan was Captain of Company F.
