He may have been the son of Mathew Tate. He appears in the 1860 census of Minnesota living with the Amos DAY family from BROOME Cty NY. Jeremiah DICKINSON b 1838 Oneida Cty NY AND Mary PIKE married in WI and arrived in ST Charles MN in the 1860's. The TATE and DICKINSON family united and moved to Balaton MN in 1890's. James BURNS b 1811, family immigrated from Ireland to St Lawrence Cty NY in the 1830's. Son James married Mary KEEFE(Higgins) from Franklin Cty, NY and came to Mn in 1870's. Grandson James Burns married Catherine Mary MALLOY who came to America with the Irish Colonization Society (John Sweetman) to Currie Minnesota in 1888. Catherine and her parents were from Cty Meath while the Burns were from Cty Cork. Other family names: Mcglade, Hall, Hanna, Vanderwalker, Stanley, Farrelly, Warren, Chapman |
